I know today's not the best day for soup
But I'm making it anyways. I'm going to make some chicken wild rice soup tonight and do my best to rush the fall season upon us. Later on, I'll post some pictures of the kitchen I made it in. Pretty awesome. I'm going to try and make a bunch so I can freeze it and have containers for yummy lunches one day (I'm getting sick of peanut butter and jelly and 100 cal snack bags). So if anyone wants some...I'll have a whole pot full. The only catch is you have to come visit me for some.

It's time for demo, yo.
So Mike took today, friday and he has the weekend and monday off....all to work on the kitchen. It's exciting stuff. He hasn't had that much time off all together since he started the house renovation. I think today its getting the last few things out of the kitchen and plasticing off the ceiling. At least I think that's what he's doing. All I know for sure is that I'm excited that the work is beginning in the kitchen. I guess we'll probably be grilling a lot in the future :) Yummmmm. Wish Mike luck!

Yay to a new shirt making you happy.
This new shirt, in particular, that I just bought. I have a special place in my heart for the "lumberjack print." As a kid, the whole family had this print and this color fleece zip up. I suppose my dad being a logger had something to do with it :) I can't remember if my dad's and brothers were red though....makes sense I suppose. Anyways, I was beyond excited to find this. Now every time I wear this I'll be reminded of how I'm a logger's daughter and remember just how nerdy our family was to all have matching coats.

I love this town
So as an example of how small of a town I'm in, here's a little story my mom reminded me of this weekend:
One day she had the unfortunate experience of hitting a squirrel. She felt bad about it and mentioned it to my grandma as she was talking to her. My grandma says, "Oh in front of The County Journal?" It sure was.
My dad comes home from work and she again tells him about her vehicular rodent slaughter. Want to guess his response? Yes, he too asked if it was in front of The County Journal.
A person can't even hit a squirrel without everyone knowing about it...at least where it occurred anyways.

Thank you Kari, for making this possible.
The calphalon panini pan that you gave me for Christmas is one of my favorite things, so is the plate that you sent me all the way back in college. I had a chicken, honey mustard, provolone, pickle, and tomato panini yesterday, tonight and yes I will most likely have one again tomorrow. It's a big loaf of bread and i'm not letting any go to waste! You won't hear me complaining one bit about this repeat. Sigh.

The Fanny Pack.
So today a woman came in asking if we had any fanny packs. I told her no. She said, "there's not a fanny pack in this whole town." I was proud of that statement.
Oh how I love google images.
