Squee!

Just thought I'd share something that made my heart happy. It's this website. It has all kinds of cute animal pictures like this:

and this:

The pictures are so cute I just can't stand it. Sometimes I think I'm still a 12 year old girl.

I got my hair cut!

Ok, so that's not a real picture of me...oh virtual makeover you are so fun. I'm just trying to figure out what bangs would like on me. What do you think about this? I'm going to donate to locks of love again, so drastic change, here I come.

These cats seriously need to learn some boundaries...

Murphy going after the catnip. They find that stuff no matter where we put it.

Lulu sitting in my paper a tray. I opened it, took something, walked out of the room and came back in and there she was.

Tuscan Yellow, anyone?

So after we painted the kitchen, and I stood back and looked and said I liked it, "It's like a Tuscan yellow." Mike said he didn't understand what I meant by that. So I said, I don't know, that's just what it feels like. Fast forward to this past weekend. Mike's friend came over and as Mike was showing him the kitchen he said, "I really like this color. It's like a Tuscan yellow." So apparently that's really what it feels like. Is tuscan yellow even a thing?? I'm pretty sure I've never described a yellow that way.

So here's some pictures of what's been accomplished so far:

The dishwasher, oh how I love it. Oh and all of the appliances are not stainless. They're a painted silver so they don't collect fingerprints. Yay!
A sink! A two-basin sink!!! You have no idea how excited both Mike and I are. Top of the cabinets, and look! A kitchen gnome! At the moment we're missing a bag of hinges, which explains why there aren't any doors on these cabinets :)Here's the other side. Still all the trim-work to do and look, there's a hole in the wall! It's where another window will go in the spring.

And here's the other side...As you can see, we're still a work in progress. That is the bar frame will be covered in cedar and will have book shelves on this side. A place for all my cookbooks!

Yup, we're pretty excited in these parts.

It's been a wait.

But I finally got to put all of this brand new stuff that's been sitting in the basement for over a year into the dishwasher last night. Yup. THE DISHWASHER! Ugh, so darn exciting.

So those are our dishes and silverware sitting on our floor, that is also done. Things have really come together. Is it wrong, that I say, "Ooh I love those dishes," every time I look at them? Or better yet, I say "Yee!" The ones with the flowers, that is. Unfortunately I only got a set of two, but I figured that brings our dishes to a set of six, total. Mike's already afraid he'll be the one to break the first one.

Today my momma is hopefully coming over and we're going to work on getting everything into the cabinets. She's way better at organizing than I am. Gotta love moms. Later on tonight I'm painting the dining room.

Last night I sat on the floor in the middle of all those dishes and watched as mike hooked up the dishwasher. Couldn't help but feel extremely proud of him and all of the projects he's accomplished so far, learning all the new trades along the way. Plumbing, wiring, building, floors, he's done it all with little help. So impressed with this man.
