Nursery Rhyme

Did anyone else's grandma sing this to them as a child?

"There once was a farmer who met a young miss,
in back of a farm where he gave her.....
a lecture on chickens and horses and eggs,
and told her that she had such beautiful....
manners, that suited a girl of his charms,
a girl that he wanted to take in his....
washing and ironing and then when she did...
they could get married and raise lots of sweet.....
Violets!"

Hello, I've never met you before, but my friend Amy Glover taught the song to me in 3rd grade and I have enjoyed it on many occasions since then. I just got curious about how common it is and searched the internet for the lyrics and yours is the only site that has them!! one other site has an excerpt as a title to a photo of "sweet violets", but it is little known for sure. Thanks for sharing it! definitely beats the majority of nursery rhymes out there!
