Girly!

Because I'm still waiting for a picture of Mallory...I decided to post a picture of something very girly. Look what I got yesterday!

I'm going to smell good now!! Thank you Victoria's Secret sale. Ugh, and don't even get me started on how good those lilacs smell. Oh and thank you to the random house along our walk for letting me take them (even though you didn't know it).

Its a girl!

And her name is Mallory Skye. Cute huh?? Can't wait to see pictures. Woohoo! She was 9lbs 1 oz.

Yeeps!

Tomorrow morning I will have a new niece or nephew!!!

A favorite of mine

I realize summer is coming (see post below) and I don't have much time to enjoy a hot tea the way I do during the winter and fall but today is only in the 40's so enjoying I am.

I heart a good chai latte. I've tried many many different kinds of chai tea bags (my adorable bf bought me like three or four different boxes for one of our anniversaries b/c he new I liked it so much and we also sell different kinds at work) and have come to the conclusion that the simple Lipton is my favorite:

A half a packet of splenda and about a fourth a cup of skim milk make this my all time favorite hot drink...adding ice to it in the summer isn't so bad either.

Definitive signs summer is coming:

  • Road construction is up and running full speed
  • I spied the city crew putting up the volleyball nets at the beach
  • The UPS guys are wearing those adorable little brown shorts
  • My windshield was covered in yellow pollen this morning
  • My cute old neighbor mowed his lawn before 8 am (not cute) and then blew it clean with his leaf blower after again mowing at 10 am
  • The hostas and baby rose bush are starting to grow and the rhubarb has leaves
  • Mike is itching to go golfing
  • I have to call all chamber members to see if they want hanging flower pots for their businesses
  • There was a lot of traffic on the road today
  • I'm starting to not recognize the faces that come into the stores I work at
  • I've worn flip-flops to work
I should note, however that it is currently 47 degrees.

ch-ch-check it out.

What a little handy man he is.
We have a running sink in our bathroom ladies and gentlemen! A running sink! I was talking to someone i haven't talked to in awhile on facebook last night and I heard a WHOOHOO! come from the bathroom (it was a success!) I told her that "I have a working sink in my bathroom and something to blog about!" She said i must have a sad blog (in a joking way) in that a sink is blogworthy. I explained that we've been without a sink in the bathroom for at the least....seven months? She agreed. Blog it.

Our new shower curtain and bath mat that I've been wanting to use for forever!!

And OMG, a vanity. There's a medicine cabinet for our meds and toiletries (no longer using up precious tv console storage). I also got to use my little set of toothbrush holder, cup and soap dispenser that I got for christmas too. And in case you are wondering...yes that is a jack daniels glass holding the q-tips :)

We've still got some work to do, obviously, find a q-tip holder (although I'm kind of digging this for the moment), I need to make curtains, trim work needs to go in and the door needs to be varnished, oh and the windows replaced sometime, but man, getting this stuff in there was a morale booster. This room looks like it doesn't belong with the rest of the house. Such new stuff!

Cute!

Am I the only one that thinks its ADORABLE when motorcycles pass each other and they give each other the secret motorcycle hello?

Anaconda?

So this weekend I get a phone call from my sister's boyfriend from a wedding reception they were at. He immediately sings, "My anaconda don't want none unless you've got buns hun." I was laughing and said, "uh...ok." Then he proceeded to say that my sister told him to call me and sing that to me. She gets on the phone and says, "don't you remember when you woke me up because I was saying that in my sleep??"

Oh how could I have forgotten?

A successful weekend

After last years troubles during the memorial ride I knew it couldn't be worse than last year's so I was pretty excited about going and hey I had the weekend off! If it wasn't for my mom I wouldn't have these pictures either. My camera somehow came out of my pocket and I discovered that at one of our stops. Mom turned around and backtracked and found it all by herself. She saved the day!

It was a little dusty there for awhile, then muddy.

I don't know how many people were there, but there were definitely more than what this picture shows.

Here I am acting "cashe"? with my mom. Short for casual. Couldn't figure out how to spell that.

Mikey and his friend at the top of the hill by the Fire tower. The hill that me and my mom almost didn't make it up (btw, what does one do when climbing a hill and your aren't making it, I asked and no one had an answer for me). Something is wrong with her four wheeler (and mike's too) which caused us not to go again on sunday, but that was alright. Mike and I got some much needed cleaning done at home instead.
Funny, funny Jen.

A stop at Long Lake. It was really a nice relaxing and fun weekend. I'll take more please!
