Success

I had another good night, my friends. So I told you it was Mikes 30th, but it was also his sisters 18th! So we had Jen and my cousin Brandon (his sister is dating my cousin, crazy huh) over to Mikes house for his first ever dinner party in his own house. It was a success. Oh and in case you were wondering we had bbq ribs that were in the crockpot for hours and hours and Mikes family's infamous cheesy potatoes. Delish.

I finally got to tell mike what he was getting for his birthday. Unfortunately it didn't get here in time b/c it is backordered for another half a month still but he was still pretty excited about it. Here it is:We're going to be a pretty rocking couple on those four-wheelers aren't we? :)

Happy Birthday!

Join me in saying Happy 30th Birthday to my bf, Mike! I heard thirty isn't so bad.

Happy Weekend

I had a really good weekend, when I wasn't at work anyways. I finally got to hang out with Aaron and a couple other cool people. We had some awesome drinks at home, thanks to Adminstrative professionals day, and then headed to the bar where I got 4 *yes 4, bullseye's in a row and got to dance to rod stewart. Good times. Also, Mike and I have now been together for nine months :)

Now I'm sitting here at Mikes house while he's at work and he has all kinds of new photos on his desktop. I'm going to share a few with you:

Okay, I'll stop now....but there's a lot more :)

Happy Administrative Professionals Day to me!

Here's what my boss gave me today (for the second year in a row now):

Here's something I found while searching for a picture of J.D.:

Such pleasant customer service

I FINALLY got a response from Ride Gear, the original company I tried to order my helmet from.

Here's one of my angry emails sent to them well over a week ago (notice the all caps :)) :

PLEASE CANCEL MY ORDER. I can't believe you guys call yourselves a company. CANCEL MY ORDER IMMEDIATELY. I expect to get an email from you soon saying you have done so.

Here's their response(that I just got today):

Nicole,

Your order has been canceled. If there was anything else we could help you with please feel free to contact us at anytime. Thank you and have a great day.

Aaron
RideGear Customer Sales

Ha! Feel free to contact them any time!? I tried to over and over again.

Strike!

Ever since Mike went golfing in Florida he's had the itch to go. After a successful 1/2 off! purchase of some new clubs he's really had the itch. Our golf course finally opened this past weekend complete with rain and intense fog. So yesterday was the first day to go. I went with.

We went to the driving range and I don't think I've swung a club since about senior year of high school...and mind you I barely did it then.

I did just what he told me to do and swung and missed over and over again. Finally I started to connect with it...the top of it. Thus, sending it a few rolling feet forward. I did finally get a little bit of a hang of it and the ball managed to make it in the air but I couldn't ever find it once it was there. So I have no idea how far they went...my guess is not very far. I really had a good time though and would love to see if I can actually continue to hit the ball....maybe even forwards instead of sideways this time.

Mike begrudgingly let me take a picture of him for blog fodder.

This little girl and her dad were so cute. She'd throw a ball to him when he needed it and then she'd yell 1, 2, 3,....GO!....right as he was swinging :)

Photoganza!

West Siiiiide! I said say cheese, and he made this pose.

So my "abundant melon" (thanks ang!) fits in my new helmet!
Mike tried to assure me that "chipmunk cheeks" are normal in helmets.

Before

After! Yeah, this is what I did last night. Don't they look cute?

So this is the aforementioned picture of Connor and "his best friend for life"

Connor and his other best friend for life.

Connor in my AWESOME Packer boxers :D

He's a pretty talented guy. He's been doing this since he was a baby (push play) :

To Angie and Dave

When I heard about your house closing yesterday I went searching for a virtual housewarming gift...these are just a couple of the terrific things I found.

The gnome-be-gone for your new garden (for those pesky invading gnomes)

&

His and Hers Key Holders (heaven forbid you get those mixed up!)

I found these at Uncommon Goods, such an awesome website if you haven't been to it. I love going to it and lusting after stuff and then realizing that I can't afford most of the things on it.
I found another website Perpetual Kid that has silly things like these on it too. I find myself drawn to these things. Why is that? I guess maybe the name of their website says it all.

So congratulations on your NEW HOUSE Angie and Dave. I'm so happy for you! I cannot wait to see it all Angie and Dave'd up!

We're going be friends for life

So last night I got to babysit Connor (I don't know how parents do it). Anyways, Mike and I were in the kitchen making pizza when I look into the living room and there he is hugging my dog Ally and saying, "We're going to be friends for life." I think I almost cried it was so darn cute.

When I get home from work I'll try and post some pictures.

Arg!! I've been trying to get my pictures to upload from my camera since yesterday and all I get is a green blinking light! SO FRUSTRATING! I don't know what to do, so for right now, no adorable pictures.

Here's a couple pictures from today

Those branches aren't normally on top of the swing.

It's some really heavy snow.

My poor little robin friends were duped into thinking it
was spring (like the rest of us) too early. I hope they're okay.

Just because.

hehe.

Boo to blizzard

Now I'm not usually one to complain about the snow, b/c I actually kinda like it, but this is getting ridiculous. The 11th of April and we get a freaking blizzard. I'd venture out and snap a picture but those winds are crazy. Needless to say all the schools are closed as well as businesses (aka my job). I'm poor enough as it is and then they have to actually go ahead and cancel work. It's not looking good for tomorrow either. Thanks to my meteorologist boss who wouldn't let me come to work a day early because "its not going to snow" and made me lose a day of work. Also, the snow made me miss seeing my Aaron, which is reason enough to make me sad and angry. I found a picture someone took in Duluth...this is pretty much what it looks like here too, except imagine everything blowing.

Alright, my angry rant is over. Anybody else having a bad weather day? I know some of you are too.

However, I would like to thank the blizzard for holding off a little and allowing us to watch The Office (large school canceling ticker aside) and only now push the network off the air due to lack of power.

A tribute.

To Nelly (rap superstar) and The Office (one of the best shows ever):

Thank you You Tube

My new favorite thing to do

I like to go to foodnetwork.com and bettycrocker.com and look at recipes and then put them in my virtual recipe box. haha. I've yet to make anything from said recipe boxes but I have found some awesome recipes that I would really like to try. Now I can go right to my recipe box there and pick out one that already appealed to me and not have to sift through a bunch. So that's my treat to you guys, try it. It's fun! :D

This is a job description in the paper.

PT/FT ofc help. High people contact; 4-5 mo. assignmt, perm position possible. People skills, data entry & comp. exp. Wages depend on skill.

Could someone tell me what high people contact means? Am I missing something?

I'm in desperate need of a new job. :)

What's even more stupid is there's one that doesn't say where the job is. This is a local newspaper but it covers a pretty large area. You have to send your app to the newspaper. I just called the paper and they won't tell me either. This one needs two personal letters of recommendation as well as two professional letters and yet they will not tell you where the job is located. Why would I want to go through all that and find out that the job is at least 50 miles away. Isn't that silly? Or am I just being lazy?

I just got taken.

I'm so stinking angry right now. Remember that pretty helmet I was so excited about getting? Well the online site I ordered it from www.ridegear.com is crap. I haven't heard anything from them. I call their number and it ALWAYS says all of our customer service representatives are busy, we will answer your call in the order in which it was received. It says that for about 10 minutes and then tells you to call back later and hangs up on you. Nice huh? I've emailed them multiple times and got no response. I guess I should have looked up some reviews of the company before I placed my order. I feel so stupid and angry. I can't even get a hold of anyone to cancel my freaking order.

I called my credit card company to dispute the charge but they said they can't do anything yet b/c it's still only a pending charge so I can't do anything until they actually charge my account.

I really stinking need a helmet and I just KNOW if I go and order a new helmet from elsewhere I'm going to get this one in the mail and not be able to get a refund for it b/c the company is a crock.

What would you guys do?

This really makes me giggle.

Seriously!

Is anyone else having a hard time breathing b/c they are so excited about the return of The Office on Thursday? Anyone having any parties that I need to know about?

Free online calendar

Ok, so at work, we had these page-a-day calendars and a lot of them didn't sell. Anyways, on the inside of them they have a code where you can go to their website www.pageaday.com and get a free online calendar that can be sent to your email or just go to their website and look at it. There's some kind of funny ones there if anyones interested (and no they aren't all cat ones). Here's a couple codes.

WORD-8364522187
WMEN-8996534223

Here's the one I chose:

If these codes have been used you can just let me know and I'll probably be able to find some more if anyone wants.

If you want to leave in the comments that you used a code then I'll know to find another one.

Look what I just bought!!

Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought I'd be so excited to buy a helmet. Isn't she pretty?!

For all of you wondering this is for a four-wheeler. I'll mostly be sitting on the back of one, but you can never be too protected (or stylish). I have a weekend of riding coming up so now I'm prepared. I'm going to be so sad to see it get dirty. ha. I'll be sure to post pictures of my big head in it when it gets here.

"Braking" Seinfeld news

Jerry's response after having been in an accident where his brakes went out:

"Because I know there are kids out there, I want to make sure they all know that driving without braking is not something I recommend, unless you have professional clown training or a comedy background, as I do. It is not something I plan to make a habit of."

He's still got it.

New York Post Article

It's been awhile.

It's been awhile since mike and I (and my mom and grandma) have had an actual dinner. There's been too much going to make anything I guess. Well this was our attempt last night. Here's an unappetizing photo .
Professional food photographer, I am not. If you're wondering what it is, it's chicken flattened with a garlic and herb soft cheese in the middle rolled up and then wrapped in bacon. (Thanks to Holly for the recipe book) A wise one once said, if you wrap something in bacon, it only makes it better.

Quick story about the bacon. I actually had someone give me this farm fresh bacon at a bar. The usual buying of a drink must not work that good in this part of the woods so he's moved on to giving out bacon. Don't worry, I know the person and I haven't had any violent illnesses just yet.

Note to self: Pick up meat mallot at store. Corn can's do not hold up to your flattening fury.

Update on the peanut butter toast situation. The word has spread. Even Mike's boss knows. She sent home some delicious peanut butter bread home with him to give to me. So nice of her! And in case she's wondering...I'm also a huge fan of lemon bars.

Oh, one other thing. Is there a shortage of peaches going on in this country I'm unaware of?

Peanut Butter toast, how I love thee.

Anyone who's been around me recently might categorically state that I have an addiction to peanut butter toast. And not just on any bread or with any peanut butter. It MUST be healthy choice 7 grain bread with loads of Jif creamy peanut butter.

While I was in Florida for a week staying at Kari's parents house, I of course made a trip to the store the first morning we were there to get these staples. This opened me up for comments each time I made the walk to the toaster. One example:

Stephanie: Peanut Butter toast, huh?
Nicole: Yeah, it's sort of become an addiction, I know. I guess there's worse things I could be addicted to though.
Stephanie: Yeah, like donuts.
Nicole: Well I was thinking more along the lines of cocaine, but donuts wouldn't be good either.

I'm joining the ranks

So here it is, the inaugural bloggity blog.

I dedicate this one to my *forever in my heart roomate. She talked me right into doing this as I believe she has done for other people. Ang, I think you helped talk me into staying in college so I'm gonnna go ahead and trust your judgment on this one.

I'm kinda hoping that this will make me take more pictures, which I have been really slacking at lately. I might even go out of my way to do something just to take pictures to put on the blog (lame, I ask?) . I'm picturing many conversations to come that involve the words. "C'mon!! This will look good on my blog." I also imagine many negative reactions to those words.

Anyways, I'm gonna go ahead and share a pic of me and ang, that was from fart (a typo I care too much about to change) too long ago, last summer.
